Wingardium Leviosa: Styling Round Glasses

Round glasses are one of my favorite trends I’ve been seeing lately (no pun intended), and I’ve been having such a fun time figuring out how to style them! If you are like me and were blessed with 20/20 vision, fear not: you can still take part in this cute look by buying round glasses without prescription lenses. I’ll have my favorite blue light blocking pair linked down below.

Since glasses of any kind automatically give off more of a nerdy vibe, I try to lean into it by pairing it with one really conservative item of clothing. (Here, it’s my turtleneck.) Once you have your more classic item picked out, I then like to play around with the rest of the outfit. For contrast, I picked my pair of light wash skinny jeans with unique embroidery on the back. Additionally, I chose to bring my favorite velvet handbag along and gold pendant necklace as accessories to add back in a chic element. Finished off with my suede riding boots, another conservative and classic touch, and this outfit is complete!

You can always go further to either end of the spectrum if your style calls for it, but I aim to keep all elements balanced when I’m styling an element outside of my comfort zone.

Like an Oreo

It was super rainy this morning, but luckily I made it to my first class before the rain started! I didn’t feel like wearing rain boots since it was going to be so humid, so I opted for leather sneakers instead. I figured that as long as I timed the rain showers right, they would at least help my feet navigate the puddles and make it through relatively unscathed.

I love my overalls; they’re transitioning into the warmer months pretty easily! This is my first time pairing them with a short-sleeve shirt and I love the way this look came together, although the complete black and white combo did have me feeling vaguely like an Oreo cookie.

SHOP THE LOOK:

Scrunchie: Black Scrunchie – Walmart

This will probably be the last super busy week of my semester, and I’m really excited! I can’t wait for the semester to be over. I love my classes, but sometimes enough is enough. I’m feeling ready to move onto next semester.

Feeling Paranormal

Today was the first day back at school after break, and honestly, it was super rough. I’m not usually someone who needs coffee to get through the day (I mostly just drink it for the taste,) but after my 8:30 was over I knew I needed to hit up the closest Starbucks drive through and get my hands on a venti caramel cloud macchiato, STAT.

Since I felt like the walking dead when I got up this morning, I channeled that paranormal energy into a new addition to my closet that I got over break! Three of these items are new, actually- the turtleneck tee and the corduroy jacket that I got thrifting our first day, and the ouija board pin that I got in downtown St. Augustine.

Disclaimer: I’ve never actually played with an ouija board, but I thought that the pin was so quirky and fun that I couldn’t pass it up.

Jacket: Black Corduroy Jacket (similar)
Pin: Ouija Board Pin

If you’re just coming back from break, I hope you feel less like a zombie than I did! As I found out after devouring my cloud macchiato in 5 minutes or less, there’s no amount of sleepy that espresso shots can’t fix.

It’s Always Sunny

Yesterday was literally such a good day! My mom came into town to watch my concert band concert and we were able to spend the afternoon together beforehand. I don’t get to go home much in the spring so I am so thankful when my parents take time out of their day to come to me.

I knew we would be doing some clothes shopping so I wanted to wear something that would be easy to get on and off as we went to different stores. The weather also got up to 50 degrees for the first time in a few days, so I wanted to give my legs a breather and not confine them to jeans for a day. This shirt is kinda short so I wasn’t sure how well it would stay tucked in my skirt, but it did really well and I ended up loving how this look turned out!

Jenny From The Block

Hey everyone! It’s time for another #OOTD post!

Today I’m heavily feeling my braids, as you can see. I thought they really pulled this outfit together (I usually wear my hair down.) I love the gold accents from my earrings and my belt and that the whole outfit is so delightfully neutral while also sporting an extremely bold print. (I also was told that I gave off Jenny from the Block vibes, which inspired the title.)

Black and White²

Good morning! I’m back with another #OOTD, this one from yesterday!

I actually threw this look together last-minute (no, seriously) because the outfit I wanted to wear was definitely not rainy weather appropriate (think: cropped jean jacket and a tank top.) So I had to improvise! And I’m glad I did, because I love the way this look turned out.

Shop the look:

Sweater: White Turtleneck Sweater (similar)
Necklace: Scorpio Pendant Necklace – J. Crew
