Stripes on Stripes

I’m ready for cooler weather, but summer in full swing means I can still get away with wearing crop tops to class. It’s super hot in Oklahoma, and that means I generally want to be wearing as little clothing as possible while still being classroom-appropriate.

As you all know, I love a good black-and-white look, especially when stripes are involved. I decided to try to play up the stripes look by coordinating my top with the stripes on my shoes and adding a belt (AKA one giant stripe) at my waist. Cute, classic, and casual for class!

Dear Oklahoma weather: I love you, but can we just cool it just a little bit? Like even a little? My closet would thank you.

Feeling Blue

This #OOTD was actually one of my favorite outfits during the summer of 2018. I had recently gotten a job at Old Navy (with a killer employee discount!) and was redoing my wardrobe. I hadn’t completely given up the preppy look, so I was still looking for ways to incorporate more classic pieces into my look. Hence, the statement necklace.

Blue has always been one of my favorite colors, and I love getting to combine different shades in this look. They coordinate, but don’t clash. I don’t wear a lot of monochromatic looks (besides the occasional all-black one) so I love getting to do something a little different from my day-to-day! (Although the shirt is striped, which seems to make up a good majority of my wardrobe sometimes.)

Have you every undergone a complete style transformation? Mine was last summer, and I’m so grateful for every penny I spent tailoring my new wardrobe to fit my current taste. It’s what led me here!

Tied With a Bow

News flash: it is hot in Austin, and I mean scorching. It’s only May, so I’m not looking forward to see what this Texas heat does come July. Because of the hot temps, I have to adjust my wardrobe to match, especially on my days off when I’m out and about.

An easy way to stay cool as the temperatures continue to rise? Easy, breezy cotton shorts! They’re cute and weather appropriate, so I’ll definitely be adding some more to my wardrobe over the coming months. I got this pair for Easter this year, and I get so many compliments on them every time I wear them out!

How are y’all staying cool as the weather starts to heat up? I think I’m gonna go paddle boarding today. It’ll be hot, but the Lake Austin water will keep me cool!
