It’s Always Sunny

Yesterday was literally such a good day! My mom came into town to watch my concert band concert and we were able to spend the afternoon together beforehand. I don’t get to go home much in the spring so I am so thankful when my parents take time out of their day to come to me.

I knew we would be doing some clothes shopping so I wanted to wear something that would be easy to get on and off as we went to different stores. The weather also got up to 50 degrees for the first time in a few days, so I wanted to give my legs a breather and not confine them to jeans for a day. This shirt is kinda short so I wasn’t sure how well it would stay tucked in my skirt, but it did really well and I ended up loving how this look turned out!

My Own Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day!

I personally love February 14, even if I’m single (mostly because that means I don’t need to buy gifts for anyone other than myself.) Today I took the phrase “treat yourself” very literally! I went to Torchy’s for lunch, something I rarely do anymore, and then came home and let myself have a nice, relaxing nap. It’s shaping up to be a good day all around!

I wasn’t planning on dressing festive today, but after spotting this pink skirt in the back of my closet I knew I couldn’t resist. For those of you who knew me 3-4 years ago, my statement necklace is probably bringing back some strong “retro Kayla” vibes. I haven’t worn one in a while, but today reminded me how cute they are!

Black and White²

Good morning! I’m back with another #OOTD, this one from yesterday!

I actually threw this look together last-minute (no, seriously) because the outfit I wanted to wear was definitely not rainy weather appropriate (think: cropped jean jacket and a tank top.) So I had to improvise! And I’m glad I did, because I love the way this look turned out.

Shop the look:

Bandana: Black Bandana – Hobby Lobby
Sweater: White Turtleneck Sweater (similar)
Necklace: Scorpio Pendant Necklace – J. Crew
Skirt: Geometric Skirt (similar)
Boots: Ellie Waterproof Knee High Riding Boot – BLONDO

Extra, Extra!

You’re probably thinking, “Wait! This isn’t a regular mirror selfie!” And you’re right- I got creative today. I wanted to mix things up, and set up an elaborate way to prop up my phone and take a picture with a self timer. I like the result a lot!

Today’s #OOTD features my favorite hat I own, a velvet paperboy cap I got while on vacation in Miami! I had been wanting a hat like this for a while and was thrilled when I found it on sale at Zara. I think it really gives this outfit a funky vibe!

Shop the look:

Hat: Newsboy Cap (similar)
Sweater: Cashmere Sweater – Valerie
Belt: Elastic Belt (similar)
Skirt: Women’s Velvet Skater Skirt – Urban Coco
Boots: Ellie Waterproof Knee High Riding Boot – BLONDO
