Week two of senior year is in the books! It’s all flying by so quickly already, so I need to remind myself from time to time to stop and smell the roses. I feel like this semester will be gone before I know it, and I want to make sure I value my last fall semester as an undergrad!
I don’t want to time to pass too quickly, but I wouldn’t mind fast-forwarding to days with some cooler weather. I have so many cute long sleeves and outerwear items, I want to show them off! Until then, enjoy more #OOTDs with crop tops and shorts.
Can’t wait for my last first home football game of this season on Sunday! I’m pretty exhausted from this week, but I’m always in the mood for some Sooner football. September 1 (& hopefully cooler days), here I come!
The first week of my senior year is over, and I’m super optimistic about what’s to come this fall. Even for the first week, I’ve felt extremely busy- apparently, being a master’s student, undergraduate senior, resume design business founder, sorority publicist, blogger, and marching band member is hard work. Who knew?
Luckily, I love my schedule for this year. I was a little hesitant about only having classes on Tuesday/Thursday, but it’s been working out really well, at least for the first week. Only having to make the trek to main campus twice a week is allowing me to spend a lot more time at home, grinding on all my work (school related and not) on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. I don’t think I’ll get as lucky next semester, so I’ll definitely be savoring this one.
I’ve been having such a fun time finding cute little corners on campus to take my #OOTD pictures! Getting over the quasi-weirdness of people watching me take them is a little strange, but I’m having so much fun I really don’t mind. Be on the lookout for more soon!
I’m ready for cooler weather, but summer in full swing means I can still get away with wearing crop tops to class. It’s super hot in Oklahoma, and that means I generally want to be wearing as little clothing as possible while still being classroom-appropriate.
As you all know, I love a good black-and-white look, especially when stripes are involved. I decided to try to play up the stripes look by coordinating my top with the stripes on my shoes and adding a belt (AKA one giant stripe) at my waist. Cute, classic, and casual for class!
Wakey, wakey Upper East Siders. Welcome to the first day of senior year, and the onset of a new social dynasty.
Gossip Girl, Season 2: Episode 4
I almost can’t believe it- today is my last first day of my undergraduate career! I still have one first day back in my future, but somehow I feel like the first day of senior year is an even bigger deal. This time next year I’ll have a bachelor’s degree!
I’m always just as excited to pick out my first day of school #OOTD as I am to start a new school year. (AKA very excited- I actually love the start of school!) When I first did my H&M haul a few weeks ago, I put together this outfit and immediately fell in love. I knew it would be the perfect look for my first day back on campus, especially after a full week of basically existing in athletic gear for Pride Camp!
Is it super obvious what album I listened to as I wrote this post?
This Ariana Grande tee is one of my latest H&M finds- I saw it and immediately knew it was meant for me. Her thank u, next album is full of bops, and “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” is definitely up there for me!
I’m a huge fan of black and pastel pink (it gives me Barbie vibes) so I knew I should pair it with my lace-up black skirt- possibly the only other item in my wardrobe that can rival this shirt’s sassiness. And what would a sassy #OOTD be without some hoops and a half-up, half-down pony? Incomplete. That’s what.
Today was the first day of my last weekend in Austin! I decided to spend my day going to some of the places I can’t find in Norman- and for me, that meant brunch at Tacodeli, and then shopping at H&M and Buffalo Exchange.
I spent more money than I meant to today ($170) but I walked away with 22 items, so I think it was a fair trade. I got so many cute things and I can’t wait to show them to y’all over the coming weeks!
If I’m being honest, I’m probably going to go get Tacodeli again tomorrow. I’m going to be devastated when I don’t have easy access to it anymore- the closest one to Norman is actually the one that just opened by my house in Frisco.
Remember when I said I was dreaming up new #OOTDs when stuck in bed last week? This is one of them. I’ve been sitting on this blazer for a while, unsure quite how to style it. During my hours on bedrest, I decided to mentally go through my wardrobe and finally figure out the solution!
The answer deceptively simple. Since I work in an office with a casual-chic dress code, I knew I didn’t have to dress it up too much- in fact, I should probably focus on dressing it down. So, I paired it with a plain white tee, my trusty black jeans, and my signature Adidas. This look screams “woman on the go” while still being professional. I’m always trying to perfect the line between casual and presentable, and I think this fits that perfectly!
It feels so great to be back! For the past 2 weeks, I’ve been trying to get over a bad case of bronchitis that seriously knocked me off my feet. I missed a week of work, since I could barely do more than browse Pinterest and binge Gossip Girl in bed. But after 14 days of sickness and 12 different medications, I finally found something that worked and I’m going to be back at my internship today.
Since this is my first time out of pajamas in a while, I knew I wanted to dress comfortably. (I have had ample time to brainstorm new outfit ideas while stuck in bed, but jumping straight from flannel to a denim mini skirt felt like a lot.) After some brief deliberation while standing in my closet this morning, I settled on a soft knit t-shirt dress and leggings for today’s #OOTD. Comfy and cute!
I only have 2 weeks left here in Austin, and I’m ready to finish up showing y’all the city before I move back to Norman in August. I’m glad my sickness will soon be a distant memory, because I still have some things I want to do!
I only have 3 weeks left in Austin, and honestly, that’s mind blowing. The summer seemed so long when I moved in in May, but now it’s basically over. I’m so thankful for my time here, and I hope I can make the most out of the rest of my time here! (As long as I can get over my unidentified illness… that’s actually the #1 priority right now.)
I don’t go into the heart of downtown much other than for work, but my friends were in town last weekend and we decided to spend a night out on 6th Street. We hit up P. Terry’s Burger Stand for dinner and were able to take some pics right as golden hour hit downtown. (Thankfully, because it’s providing some great #OOTD content, and I’m super glad this hot af look was able to be properly documented!)
I’ve been looking for an excuse to wear this dress all summer (still in stock on H&M’s website for only $12.99!) and a GNO was the perfect excuse. Also, the fanny pack addition was definitely the move for a night of bar-hopping. It kept me delightfully hands-free, and I never had to worry about losing a purse!
I hope I recover from my unknown illness soon so I can keep sharing content with y’all over my last few weeks here. Lately, I’ve just been trying to take it easy and shake whatever this is. Hopefully I’ll be back to 100% soon!
P.S. The building I’m posing in front of is actually Frost Bank Tower, my favorite building in Austin’s skyline! I saw it in the reflection of another building and made my friends walk a block over with me so I could take photos with it. When I was little I colloquially referred to it as “the fish building,” and I still call it that now!
Do you ever like an outfit so much that you make up excuses to leave the house so other people can see it, too? That was me with this spotty #OOTD. I had initially intended just to wear this at home on my day off, but once I had it on I knew I wanted to show it off.
So off I went, making a quick 1 mile drive off to the nearest shopping mall, where I made a beeline to the Forever 21. I mildly disliked Forever 21 throughout my entire adolescence, but I’ve been growing more fond of it lately. (Is that what inevitably happens when your 21st birthday comes around?) Either way, I ended up finding a ton of cute new clothes while I was out! I’m excited to showcase them here in the coming weeks.
