I worked at Old Navy last summer, and in case you can’t tell, I became a pretty big fan. I love their boyfriend tees, especially the striped ones. They’re comfy, casual, and can be worn so many different ways. (And honestly, my employee discount was a huge incentive to load up. That markdown was killer!)
I’ve worn them for almost a year now, and I probably need to go get more this summer from their new collection. #OOTDs like this are perfect for so many occasions, from class, to errands, to brunch! Tragically, Old Navy doesn’t carry this exact shirt anymore, but I’ve linked a similar one below.
Another internship #OOTD, this one from yesterday! It can get super cold in the office, so I had to bring a sweater to put over so I wouldn’t completely freeze. I like the outfit better without it, though!
I was extra cold yesterday because of the iced caramel latte that I had around 9:30. One of my fatal flaws is that I don’t lightly sip on anything (coffee, margaritas, etc.) so whenever I get a beverage, it’s usually gone in under 5 minutes. Normally not an issue, but about 2 hours after my latte I literally felt like I was going to die. I guess all the caffeine hit me at once, and I then had to deal with the consequences. (Note to self: please try to not do that again!)
Okay, so the title of this post is kind of misleading. I didn’t just wear two faces with this look… I actually wore three! I got these absolutely killer earrings the other day, and knew I had to style an #OOTD with them ASAP. I had been wanting a pair like this for a while (I can’t even tell you how many times I pinned similar ones on my Pinterest) and was ecstatic when I found these I was waiting in line at Uptown Cheapskate.
My only complaint is that they didn’t come with backers, and despite the long wires they still managed to wiggle out of my ears throughout the day. I’ll definitely have to find something to keep them in place before wearing them again!
I’m so excited to finally be building my earring collection! I was a classic pearl earring girl for a long time, and I’m finally branching out. Stay tuned, I’m sure I’ll share more jewelry finds with you soon!
I’ve been hurtin’ for an excuse to wear this skirt again. I wore it back in February for Valentine’s Day, and honestly don’t think I’ve worn it since. It doesn’t go with a lot of the other things in my closet, so I have to be very intentional when deciding to add it to the #OOTD. I love the way this look turned out, though!
Another piece of this ensemble that I have to be very deliberate when choosing is the corduroy jacket. Since it’s A) summer and B) a little oversized, I definitely have to be planning a look with this jacket in mind. Luckily, this #OOTD was able to combine the skirt and the jacket perfectly! I included a photo with the jacket off (just because it isn’t really the most summer-appropriate,) but I prefer it on because of how it ties together the black elastic on the skirt’s waistband.
My work’s office is very cold, very frequently so I may have to do a workplace-friendly version of this outfit soon! (AKA: A full shirt, not a tube top. We may have the casual-chic dress code, but limitations still apply.) Stay tuned!
This #OOTD was actually one of my favorite outfits during the summer of 2018. I had recently gotten a job at Old Navy (with a killer employee discount!) and was redoing my wardrobe. I hadn’t completely given up the preppy look, so I was still looking for ways to incorporate more classic pieces into my look. Hence, the statement necklace.
Blue has always been one of my favorite colors, and I love getting to combine different shades in this look. They coordinate, but don’t clash. I don’t wear a lot of monochromatic looks (besides the occasional all-black one) so I love getting to do something a little different from my day-to-day! (Although the shirt is striped, which seems to make up a good majority of my wardrobe sometimes.)
I had some friends come in town this weekend, so I decided that we should spend the evening exploring the South Congress district! I had heard a lot about SoCo but never actually been, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity.
We started out the night at Home Slice Pizza. The NY style pizza was just what I needed to get the evening started, it was quick, and really good, too!
After dinner, we decided to start wandering around and explore a little bit. SoCo is a super funky district with a lot of interesting stores, so I really liked seeing all of what the boutiques had to offer. My favorite part was probably this sign I found outside one of the stores we went into. (Sorry, Hannah B!)
As we continued exploring and window shopping, we found the flagship Kendra Scott store! I didn’t want to submit my two guy friends to the torture of watching me browse an expensive jewelry store, so I didn’t go inside. But now that I know where it is, I’ll definitely be coming back!
Despite being around 8 p.m., it was still sweltering hot. When I found a little food truck that sold ice cream pops, I bought one ASAP. I had to eat it real quick before it melted, but luckily the hot weather put me in the mood and I didn’t mind the brain freeze. (Side note: I think that was my first time trying strawberry ice cream, and it was really good!)
We finished up the night at Güero’s Taco Bar. Since I paid for parking, I got each of the boys to buy me a drink (I definitely profited, I think.) I’m a sucker for a frozen margarita (or really, frozen alcoholic beverages in general) so I really enjoyed these! There was fun live music for us to listen to as we sat out on the back patio.
Such a fun night! I’ll definitely be coming back to browse more stores and do a little more than just window shopping. Can’t wait to keep exploring more fun neighborhoods in Austin this summer!
P.S. Like my #OOTD? You can find the details here!
I love a little black dress. They’re classic, timeless, and are so easy to dress up or down. You may recognize this one– I wore it back in March for a sorority ritual. Same dress, but two completely different looks. Because rituals are formal, I left that one pretty plain with some jewelry to accent the look. But this one is way more casual- I actually wore it for a night out on SoCo when some of my friends came to visit! (Night out recap to come.)
You can’t tell, but I’m actually wearing my Adidas with this look. I knew I was going to be on my feet, exploring South Congress for a lot of the night and wanted my feet to be able to keep up!
I feel like Austin weather is more fickle than anywhere else I’ve ever been. I go to school in Norman, Oklahoma, which is supposed to be the “Severe Weather Capitol of the World.” But Austin keeps surprising me- I’ll wake up to clear, sunny skies, see torrential downpours and hail midday, and then see the blue skies make a return five minutes later. It’s crazy!
Huge fan of today’s #OOTD, even if it was only applicable for part of the day due to Mother Nature’s crazy mood swings. This is the perfect high-waisted denim skirt, and I’m so glad I added it to my repertoire recently. I love stripes and unique accents, so this shirt is a closet staple, too. Together, they’re such a cute combo for a summer day!
Have I mentioned how much I love bread & Butter’s casual chic dress code? Probably, but I’ll say it again anyways. I refreshed and revamped my professional wardrobe before the move to Austin, but I couldn’t be more thrilled to not need it. Being able to look and feel like myself in my work environment is such a plus! (Also, can we just appreciate how perfectly my Apple Watch matches this #OOTD? I’m in love!)
Another reason I love my internship? It’s pet friendly! It seems like almost every day I have a furry friend to keep me company. Most recently, it was my mentor Mandy’s kitten, Napoleon! Not to be dramatic, but I would die for him.
I love this internship for so much more than just the dress code. I feel like I’m learning so much and really making a difference in this office! Can’t wait to see how far I’ve come by the end of the summer.
I love wardrobe basics. While I also appreciate trendier items to jazz up my closet a bit, there’s just something so classic and timeless about a items that will never go out of style.
For this #OOTD, I made an outfit made completely out of wardrobe basics. A piece that has served me especially well is my denim shirt. Since it’s always a classic piece, I hadn’t realized how long I had had it in my closet. If you had asked me, I probably would have guessed 3 years. Well, I recently found a photo of me wearing it- from 2013! The moral of this story is that when you buy quality pieces, they’ll stick with you for years.
