Heart Eyes IRL

Bachelor in Paradise ended this week, and I’m honestly super heartbroken about it. What am I supposed to watch while I eat lunch now?

I’m excited for Peter’s season of The Bachelor, though. I like to have Bachelor Wednesdays with my friends (we watch on Hulu) and come up with wild theories about how the season will end. I have a weird obsession with this franchise now- if I’m still single by the time I’m 25, you can bet I’ll be applying to be a Bachelor contestant.

With BiP ending, I thought my crushin’ shirt was super fitting for my Tuesday #OOTD. I’ve loved watching this cast catch feels and find love this season!

SHOP THE LOOK:

How do you feel about Peter for Bachelor? A lot of #BachelorNation wanted Mike, who I think would’ve also been a great choice. LMK in the comments!

Born to be Wild

I love the quote that goes something like “I was born to be wild, but only until 9 p.m. or so.” I feel like that has perfectly described me lately- with the ramping up of basically everything in my life, I’m working to continue making sleep a priority. Being in bed by 10 every night helps me get up super early for my Tuesday/Thursdays, which is essential because I like to beat the crowds to campus and have some peace and quiet for my #OOTD shoots, all before my 9 a.m. class. It definitely sets me up for a busy day!

SHOP THE LOOK:

Scrunchie: Black Scrunchie – Walmart
Top: Women’s Fitted Short Sleeve Crew T-Shirt – Target
Dress: Short Leopard Dress – H&M
Shoes: Ward Sneaker – Vans

I’ve also found that adequate sleep also helps me manage my stress levels, something I’m already finding to be super important this year. How do you manage your stress levels?

Call Me, Beep Me!

Confession time: I never actually watched Kim Possible as a kid. But I definitely felt like I was channeling some KP vibes today with this #OOTD. Am I wrong?

My last class of the afternoon was cancelled, meaning I would be able to get home before the heat of the day hit. (Hello, jeans weather!) I’ve been looking for an excuse to break these out- they were one of my incredible H&M finds from about a month ago- and I’m glad the weather cooperated and allowed me to stay comfortable all morning. I’m loving the camo print, I definitely want to pick up some more camouflage pieces for fall!

SHOP THE LOOK:

Earrings: Smooth Metal C Hoop Earrings – Target
Top: Jersey Top – H&M
Belt: Loop Belt – Target
Pants: Super Skinny High Jeggings – H&M
Shoes: Ward Sneaker – Vans

The only con I can find of wearing crop tops to campus is that sometimes my classrooms are freezing cold. I’ve had to start bringing a sweatshirt to break out just in case my classes start to double as the arctic tundra!

Stop and Smell the Roses

Week two of senior year is in the books! It’s all flying by so quickly already, so I need to remind myself from time to time to stop and smell the roses. I feel like this semester will be gone before I know it, and I want to make sure I value my last fall semester as an undergrad!

I don’t want to time to pass too quickly, but I wouldn’t mind fast-forwarding to days with some cooler weather. I have so many cute long sleeves and outerwear items, I want to show them off! Until then, enjoy more #OOTDs with crop tops and shorts.

SHOP THE LOOK:

Bandana: Black Bandana – Hobby Lobby
Earrings: Smooth Metal C Hoop Earrings – Target
Top: Floral Crop Top – Charlotte Russe
Belt: Loop Belt – Target
Shorts: Cotton Twill Shorts – H&M
Shoes: Grand Court Sneaker – Adidas

Can’t wait for my last first home football game of this season on Sunday! I’m pretty exhausted from this week, but I’m always in the mood for some Sooner football. September 1 (& hopefully cooler days), here I come!

Stripes on Stripes

I’m ready for cooler weather, but summer in full swing means I can still get away with wearing crop tops to class. It’s super hot in Oklahoma, and that means I generally want to be wearing as little clothing as possible while still being classroom-appropriate.

As you all know, I love a good black-and-white look, especially when stripes are involved. I decided to try to play up the stripes look by coordinating my top with the stripes on my shoes and adding a belt (AKA one giant stripe) at my waist. Cute, classic, and casual for class!

SHOP THE LOOK:

Top: Striped Crop Tee (similar)
Belt: White Belt (similar)
Shorts: Cotton Twill Shorts – H&M
Shoes: Grand Court Sneaker – Adidas

Dear Oklahoma weather: I love you, but can we just cool it just a little bit? Like even a little? My closet would thank you.

First Day of Senior Year

Wakey, wakey Upper East Siders. Welcome to the first day of senior year, and the onset of a new social dynasty.

Gossip Girl, Season 2: Episode 4

I almost can’t believe it- today is my last first day of my undergraduate career! I still have one first day back in my future, but somehow I feel like the first day of senior year is an even bigger deal. This time next year I’ll have a bachelor’s degree!

I’m always just as excited to pick out my first day of school #OOTD as I am to start a new school year. (AKA very excited- I actually love the start of school!) When I first did my H&M haul a few weeks ago, I put together this outfit and immediately fell in love. I knew it would be the perfect look for my first day back on campus, especially after a full week of basically existing in athletic gear for Pride Camp!

SHOP THE LOOK:

Earrings: Tortoiseshell/Gold Earrings (similar)
Top: Ribbed Crop Top – H&M
Shorts: Cotton Twill Shorts – H&M
Shoes: Gold Wedge Sandals (similar)

I’m so excited to see what this year brings. Can’t wait to share more of my senior adventures with y’all- stay tuned!

thank u, next

Is it super obvious what album I listened to as I wrote this post?

This Ariana Grande tee is one of my latest H&M finds- I saw it and immediately knew it was meant for me. Her thank u, next album is full of bops, and “break up with your girlfriend, i’m bored” is definitely up there for me!

I’m a huge fan of black and pastel pink (it gives me Barbie vibes) so I knew I should pair it with my lace-up black skirt- possibly the only other item in my wardrobe that can rival this shirt’s sassiness. And what would a sassy #OOTD be without some hoops and a half-up, half-down pony? Incomplete. That’s what.

SHOP THE LOOK:

Scrunchie: Black Scrunchie – Walmart
Earrings: Silver Hoop Earrings – Walmart
Top: Ariana Grande Tee – H&M
Skirt: Lace-Up Skirt (similar)
Shoes: Grand Court Sneaker – Adidas

This Ariana tee definitely isn’t the only light pink item I picked up in my recent haul. I can’t wait to keep showcasing my finds over the coming weeks!

Cash Money

Today was the first day of my last weekend in Austin! I decided to spend my day going to some of the places I can’t find in Norman- and for me, that meant brunch at Tacodeli, and then shopping at H&M and Buffalo Exchange.

I spent more money than I meant to today ($170) but I walked away with 22 items, so I think it was a fair trade. I got so many cute things and I can’t wait to show them to y’all over the coming weeks!

SHOP THE LOOK:

Earrings: Tortoise Disc Post Earrings – Target
Purse: Kate Spade Saddle Bag (similar)
Shirt: Slim-Fit Fine-Gauge Rib-Knit Tee – Old Navy
Skirt: Green Mini Skirt – Divided by H&M
Shoes: Grand Court Sneaker – Adidas

If I’m being honest, I’m probably going to go get Tacodeli again tomorrow. I’m going to be devastated when I don’t have easy access to it anymore- the closest one to Norman is actually the one that just opened by my house in Frisco.

Stay tuned to see new items from my haul!

City Girl Summer

I only have 3 weeks left in Austin, and honestly, that’s mind blowing. The summer seemed so long when I moved in in May, but now it’s basically over. I’m so thankful for my time here, and I hope I can make the most out of the rest of my time here! (As long as I can get over my unidentified illness… that’s actually the #1 priority right now.)

I don’t go into the heart of downtown much other than for work, but my friends were in town last weekend and we decided to spend a night out on 6th Street. We hit up P. Terry’s Burger Stand for dinner and were able to take some pics right as golden hour hit downtown. (Thankfully, because it’s providing some great #OOTD content, and I’m super glad this hot af look was able to be properly documented!)

SHOP THE LOOK:

Fanny Pack: Quilted Fanny Pack – Steve Madden
Dress: Short Leopard Dress – H&M
Shoes: Steve Madden Carrson Sandal

I’ve been looking for an excuse to wear this dress all summer (still in stock on H&M’s website for only $12.99!) and a GNO was the perfect excuse. Also, the fanny pack addition was definitely the move for a night of bar-hopping. It kept me delightfully hands-free, and I never had to worry about losing a purse!

I hope I recover from my unknown illness soon so I can keep sharing content with y’all over my last few weeks here. Lately, I’ve just been trying to take it easy and shake whatever this is. Hopefully I’ll be back to 100% soon!

-K

P.S. The building I’m posing in front of is actually Frost Bank Tower, my favorite building in Austin’s skyline! I saw it in the reflection of another building and made my friends walk a block over with me so I could take photos with it. When I was little I colloquially referred to it as “the fish building,” and I still call it that now!

Seeing Spots

Do you ever like an outfit so much that you make up excuses to leave the house so other people can see it, too? That was me with this spotty #OOTD. I had initially intended just to wear this at home on my day off, but once I had it on I knew I wanted to show it off.

So off I went, making a quick 1 mile drive off to the nearest shopping mall, where I made a beeline to the Forever 21. I mildly disliked Forever 21 throughout my entire adolescence, but I’ve been growing more fond of it lately. (Is that what inevitably happens when your 21st birthday comes around?) Either way, I ended up finding a ton of cute new clothes while I was out! I’m excited to showcase them here in the coming weeks.

SHOP THE LOOK:

Sunglasses: Cateye Sunglasses – Target
Top: Leopard Camisole (similar)
Shorts: Cotton Twill Shorts – H&M
Shoes: Zone Ankle Strap Sandal – Steve Madden

I have friends coming in town this weekend, and I’m so excited for the activities we have planned. Stay tuned for the details!
