Wingardium Leviosa: Styling Round Glasses

Round glasses are one of my favorite trends I’ve been seeing lately (no pun intended), and I’ve been having such a fun time figuring out how to style them! If you are like me and were blessed with 20/20 vision, fear not: you can still take part in this cute look by buying round glasses without prescription lenses. I’ll have my favorite blue light blocking pair linked down below.

Since glasses of any kind automatically give off more of a nerdy vibe, I try to lean into it by pairing it with one really conservative item of clothing. (Here, it’s my turtleneck.) Once you have your more classic item picked out, I then like to play around with the rest of the outfit. For contrast, I picked my pair of light wash skinny jeans with unique embroidery on the back. Additionally, I chose to bring my favorite velvet handbag along and gold pendant necklace as accessories to add back in a chic element. Finished off with my suede riding boots, another conservative and classic touch, and this outfit is complete!

You can always go further to either end of the spectrum if your style calls for it, but I aim to keep all elements balanced when I’m styling an element outside of my comfort zone.

Somewhere Between Cyan and Cerulean

After a few weeks of excruciating final papers, projects, presentations, and exams, I’m finally home for the holidays! (Or at least, until Christmas Day.) I’m so glad to finally be back in Frisco: I’ve missed my family, friends, and dogs a whole bunch this semester. Another perk to being back in Frisco? Fresh #OOTD locations! I headed out early this morning to document today’s look before Frisco Square is hit by crowds of people out doing their Christmas shopping.

If you’ve been following me since my launch back in February, this look may seem slightly familiar. I styled this divine cashmere sweater similarly, but wanted to mix it up. This time, I opted out of the paperboy cap and went for a more flirty/romantic look, with my hair pulled back to make sure I revealed my “HELLO” earrings. I love taking different closet staples, like sweaters, and giving them a fresh new vibe just by mixing up the style of accessories!

I’m glad I got out and about early this morning- Christmas shopping in Frisco is crazy, and I still have a lot of people left on my list! I hope to take some more pictures around Frisco soon, so make sure you check back for more!

Hello, Sunshine

Yesterday was windy and in the 80s, but today is cold and in the 40s. It’s mid-April, so this sudden temperature drop is pretty annoying, but I also really appreciate getting one last chance to wear some of my colder-weather pieces. I love turtlenecks, and although I have some short-sleeve and no-sleeve ones that are more appropriate for spring and summer, I feel like a long-sleeved turtleneck should be reserved for colder weather.

So here’s today’s #OOTD! The yellow turtleneck is kinda cropped and a little hard to tuck into things, but I made it work with the black belt which helps keep it in place. I think the black belt helps tie in the black from my riding boots, too.

70 degree weather, please come back! I have more spring #OOTDs I want to share!

Where the Wind Comes Sweeping Down the Plains

Despite knowing that the Oklahoma wind was going to continue sweeping down the plains today, I made the unfortunate decision to wear a skirt to class today. The #OOTD was very cute, 10/10, but it was super inconvenient to have to hold my skirt down every time a particularly strong gust of wind came. Cold weather + skirts I can deal with, no problem. But the wind was another problem altogether!

Tomorrow I get to finish packing for my spring break trip, and I’m so excited! We leave really early Saturday morning, so the next time you hear from me, it’s likely I’ll be en route (or already in) Florida. Stay tuned for the details on our spring break shenanigans!

Leafy Greens

Oklahoma decided it was going to have another round of ice come through last night, which I found extremely rude since I actually had things I needed to go out and do today. Over the past few weeks my ice-driving skills have improved tremendously, but I’ll still be glad when I can leave my apartment and not worry about slipping and falling down a flight of stairs.

My big errand for the day was grocery shopping, which I like to do on Sunday mornings after I work out. I buy a lot of perishable food items, so shopping once a week is essential. And since spring break is coming up in just under two weeks, I bought even more fresh fruits and veggies than usual to encourage me to eat healthier up until the trip. (A. because I want my body to be as spring break ready as possible, and B. because I know I’m going to eat a lot of great food on that trip. Photos to come!)

Despite the weather, I chose an #OOTD that included a skirt and tank top. Dress for the weather you want, not the weather you have. Right? I thought adding suede boots and a jacket made it more weather-appropriate, if only slightly.
