Seas the Day

Yesterday, me and my crew rolled out of Norman at 5 a.m. and began the 21-hour drive to St. Augustine, Florida. The drive was rough, but we made it, and didn’t end up hating each other in the process. We finally arrived at our house at 2 a.m., exhausted but excited for the next few days.

Today it was a little rainy and cold, so we decided to forego the beach and go thrift shopping and grocery shopping. We may go downtown a little later, but for now we’re content at home making homemade pico de gallo (thanks, Rachel!) and watching the new season of Queer Eye.

Knowing that we were going to be out and about, I opted for an #OOTD that was simple, fun for spring break, and easy to get on and off when we went to the thrift store. I’m hoping we get some warmer weather soon!

SHOP THE LOOK:

Shirt: Black Crop Top (similar)
Belt: Loop Belt – Target
Jeans: Mid-Rise Rockstar Super Skinny Jeans – Old Navy
Shoes: Advantage Sneaker – Adidas

I got some great stuff thrifting, so I’m excited to incorperate them into my #OOTDs over the next few days. Check back soon for another vacation update!

Leafy Greens

Oklahoma decided it was going to have another round of ice come through last night, which I found extremely rude since I actually had things I needed to go out and do today. Over the past few weeks my ice-driving skills have improved tremendously, but I’ll still be glad when I can leave my apartment and not worry about slipping and falling down a flight of stairs.

My big errand for the day was grocery shopping, which I like to do on Sunday mornings after I work out. I buy a lot of perishable food items, so shopping once a week is essential. And since spring break is coming up in just under two weeks, I bought even more fresh fruits and veggies than usual to encourage me to eat healthier up until the trip. (A. because I want my body to be as spring break ready as possible, and B. because I know I’m going to eat a lot of great food on that trip. Photos to come!)

Despite the weather, I chose an #OOTD that included a skirt and tank top. Dress for the weather you want, not the weather you have. Right? I thought adding suede boots and a jacket made it more weather-appropriate, if only slightly.

SHOP THE LOOK:

Sunglasses: Cateye Sunglasses – Target
Jacket: Dark Green Jacket (similar)
Tank Top: Black Rib-Knit Tank – Old Navy
Skirt: Women’s Velvet Skater Skirt – Urban Coco
Boots: Ellie Waterproof Knee High Riding Boot – BLONDO

Truthfully, I’m tired of my cold weather clothes, so I’m really hoping some warm weather rolls in soon. Check back soon to see my next #OOTD!

A Leopard Can’t Change Its Spots

As per usual, I completely misread the weather forecast and dressed totally wrong for what the day would have in store. This morning started out as 50 degrees, so I figured a short sleeve shirt would be fine, as long as it continued to warm up throughout the day. But by the time I got out of my 10:30 class, it was 40 degrees, and still dropping. I really regretted not wearing a black sweater instead, but it was such a cute outfit that really it was all okay!

I got these leopard pants while out shopping with my mom last Thursday. They’re meant to be dress pants for work, but I thought they were playful enough that I could wear them day-to-day if I rolled up the hem and cropped them a bit.

SHOP THE LOOK:

Bandana: Black Bandana – Hobby Lobby
Shirt: Women’s Fitted Short Sleeve Crew T-Shirt – Target
Necklace: Scorpio Pendant Necklace – J. Crew
Pants: Leopard Skinny Ankle Pants – Target
Shoes: Advantage Sneaker – Adidas

Despite completely misjudging the weather, I loved this outfit and will definitely be keeping it in my rotation! Check back soon for my next #OOTD.

Welcome!

Ahh! I can’t believe I actually did it! I’ve been thinking of making a blog to house all of my #OOTDs for a while but I don’t know if I ever seriously expected it to come to fruition. I am so excited!

And now, I’m giving the people what they want: my OOTD!

Maybe one day I’ll have a better way to share my outfits than a traditional mirror selfie. But for now, it gets the job done.

Anna Wintour has famously said that all-black outfits are boring, but I find that couldn’t be further from the truth. I love having an all-black outfit underneath my brown winter coat- I think that the head-to-toe black fits nicely under the brown, but also can stand on its own.

Thanks for reading my first ever post on Selfies & OOTDs! Check back soon to see what I’ll be wearing next.
